As a mother of two school-aged boys, Dr. Margaret Anello Tom understands the complexities of family dynamics and the importance of a holistic approach to mental health. She is committed to providing personalized, integrative care that addresses not only symptoms, but the root causes of mental health issues, empowering her patients to achieve optimal well-being.
Dr. Margaret Anello Tom
Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, she pursued a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology at Emory University, followed by post-baccalaureate pre-medical studies at Tulane University. She earned her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University, College of Osteopathic Medicine, before moving to Memphis, where she has been practicing since 2007.
Known as both “Dr. Tom” and “Dr. Margaret,” she completed her residency in Adult Psychiatry and her fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis. She is double board certified in both of these specialties, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to her practice.
Throughout her career, Dr. Margaret has worked in diverse healthcare settings, including hospitals, residential treatment centers, telehealth systems, and outpatient facilities. Known for her thorough and comprehensive evaluations, she takes the time to truly understand each patient, fostering trust and open communication.
Dr. Tom is renowned for her empathetic, sensitive, and compassionate approach, emphasizing collaboration and shared decision-making with patients and their families. Her medical practice extends beyond medication management, incorporating a variety of psychotherapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solutions-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (SF-CBT), family-systems therapy, interpersonal therapy (IPT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), collaborative problem solving (CPS), parent management training (PMT), family therapy, motivational interviewing (MI), and supportive psychotherapy.
Michelle Freeman Vasireddy, PA-C
Michelle Vasireddy, PA-C is a compassionate and committed psychiatric provider serving children, adolescents, and adults in the Memphis area. Originally from San Diego, California, she spent her early years on the West Coast before settling in Tennessee, which she now proudly calls home.
Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from The Ohio State University. She went on to complete her Master’s degree in Physician Associate Studies and has been practicing medicine since 2014.
With experience across a variety of clinical settings, Michelle is known for her warm, empathetic approach and her unwavering dedication to treating each person with respect, kindness, and understanding—regardless of their circumstances. As a mother of three, she brings a deep personal insight into the challenges and joys of family life, allowing her to connect with patients and families on a meaningful level. Her mission is to provide thoughtful, individualized care that supports healing, growth, and resilience.
